Movement Workshops
with Micah Walters
February 13-15, 2026
Join us for a dynamic weekend of flexibility, strength, and movement exploration with Micah Walters’ approach: Alignment first, then amplitude.
Through three progressive workshops, Micah bridges worlds of movement to awaken strength, curiosity, and deeper body awareness. This is a unique opportunity to train with a visionary teacher and expand your embodiment practices in an inspired, supportive setting.
INVERSIONS AND ENDURSIONS
This session will focus on the art of upside-down balance. Expect to practice headstand, forearm stand and handstand. As a former gymnast, I have a unique relationship to handstand since handstand is the basis of so many acrobatic skills. We will build a solid foundation of support by conditioning your hands and wrists as well as upper body and core muscles. We will focus on conditioning that helps you improve your alignment and progress through drills to help you improve your mind-body comprehension.
Friday, February 13 | 6:30–8:30 PM | $55
SPLITS NOT SITS
This session is dedicated to safe, alignment based leg flexibility. We will work all aspects of the hips, including: hip flexors, hamstrings, inner thighs, glutes and hip rotators. The goal here is to make your splits functional, strong and deep. Even if you self-identify as tight in your lower body, this session will have plenty of foundational stretches that are approachable and comprehensive. By the end of the session, the goal is to weave together deep stretches that emphasize activation. A split is not a seated posture, but rather a standing one. Expect breakthroughs that you can take with you into your vinyasa practice!
Saturday, February 14 | 12:00–3:00 PM | $75
FLYING COBRA: THE MOTHER OF ALL BACKBENDS
In this session, I will dissect the optimal technique for back bending and apply it to progressively more challenging postures, all the way from cobra to scorpion. Throughout my career as a professional contortionist and flexibility coach, I have developed and tested a comprehensive approach to facilitate long lasting, incredible backbend progress. Whether you are a teacher or student, this method has the potential to transform your backbend practice with clear, concise methodology. Alignment precedes amplitude: this is the basis for my backbend technique. Stability is the foundation for mobility, so expect conditioning that helps you improve your spinal alignment which accelerates your backbend progress.

About Micah Walters
Micah Walters is a movement coach specializing in flexibility, acrobatics, and handstands. He has two decades of coaching experience across the fields of gymnastics, dance, yoga and fitness. Walters’ approach emphasizes a philosophy of "Alignment first, then amplitude". This means prioritizing corrective exercises to achieve a baseline of fitness and alignment before pushing for deeper flexibility and skill development.
Leveraging his background in gymnastics, ballet, and circus arts to inform his teaching style, he progresses students through gentle, isolated stretches, followed by more integrated stretches that resemble flexibility skill development. Walters prioritizes testing and building core stability endurance as a foundation for safe and effective flexibility training.
His approach, focusing on understanding and nurturing the body through mindful engagement of muscles during stretches, has been beneficial for students, leading to improved body awareness and increased flexibility. Students appreciate his informed and intelligent approach, particularly the emphasis on active flexibility and building core and back strength. Visit Micah’s Website Here.
